Mind first
Depression and anxiety are invisible illnesses. We teach that your brain deserves the same respect as a broken bone.
Mind & Mehar Charitable Trust · In formation
We are building a charitable trust so families — especially Indian & Punjabi communities, and every culture beside them — can talk about anxiety, stress and depression without shame. Invisible illness. Real care.
Depression and anxiety are invisible illnesses. We teach that your brain deserves the same respect as a broken bone.
Rooted in Punjabi & Indian community values — language, family, faith — with every culture warmly welcome.
Schools, gurdwaras, temples, libraries and local groups — peer education and belonging, not clinical care.
Our people
From little ones to elders — South Asian families and mixed Auckland communities, side by side.
“No shame in admitting struggle. No shame in talking. No shame in getting help.” ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ
Why we exist
Rupi started Mind & Mehar from lived experience of anxiety, stress and depression. Too many of us — especially in Indian families — are taught to keep quiet, “be strong,” and carry everything alone.
This Trust (still in formation) will carry that message into Auckland community: your brain’s health is body health. Children, youth, adults and elders all deserve language, spaces and friends who understand.
